Meet the Faces of Orrion Farms

Our loyal, hardworking staff stands as the vibrant heartbeat of Orrion Farms. They infuse their passion and love for horses into every detail. Many have been with Orrion Farms for more than 20 years and remain an intricate part of each step of the journey. Every person – down to the youngest grandchild – is interwoven into the Orrion Farms family. We are stronger together.

Allow us to introduce you to a few of them.

Andrew Sellman – Scottsdale Farm Director

With Orrion Farms since 2020

Personal Interests: My personal time revolves around my wonderful wife and children. I enjoy cooking for my family and doing projects around the house. My children are 17, 15, 5, and 2. I enjoy drawing, boating and doing almost anything with my family.

I started my showing Arabians at 8 years old. My passion for training and showing began at the Minnesota Arabian Horse Breeders Fall Festival where I showed Amateur halter for Cedar Ridge Arabians, The Ames Family. I worked for the Ames’s while I went to College at The University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN, then worked for them full time for 8 years. I then worked for Greg and Nancy Gallun for 5 years until I opens my own business called Argent Farms. In 2017, I accepted a position as Trainer at Sahara Scottsdale. I am now thrilled to be a part of Orrion Farms whose goals and ambitions run parallel with mine.

I would describe myself as, Grateful, Kind, honest, fair, hardworking, and happy. I’m married to my best friend, Angie and I feel my best years are ahead.

Jeff Smith – Director of Facilities

With Orrion Farms Since 2020

Personal Interests: Boatbuilding, hiking the forest, growing food, and cooking with his wife, Laura.

Words to Live By: Every member of a team is essential to its success.

Ever since the day Jeff’s master builder grandfather Harold first put a hammer in his hand and gave him a project, Jeff has been hooked on building things.

From those childhood summers on the farm in central Florida, where morning chores included feeding the hogs and Bucky the aptly-named Shetland pony, harvesting tomatoes and citrus from the garden, and working on a building or repair project, Jeff has been engaged in the details of making a property hum.

As a two-decade building industry professional, Jeff has focused on both strategic planning and tactical tasks as a project manager and engineer, site superintendent, carpenter, and cabinet maker.

In 2016, Jeff oversaw the initial Orrion Farms – Ellensburg renovation process as the project manager for the general contractor. He fell in the love with the place, and is thankful to join the staff in 2020 as the Director of Facilities.

Dedicated Wholly to Horses

The staff members here at Orrion Farms are more than employees; they are the pulse of our program. Across the board, they are exceptional because their care for the horses is a reflection of their integrity and character. Rather than doing the minimum, our staff consistently offer their best. We are grateful and proud to have one of the finest groups of people in the Arabian horse community working here, at Orrion Farms.
